you never know who wants to filter out a particular piece of media for whatever reason and tagging lets them do so easily without having to unfollow people
to be clear: I specifically mean add the tag for the media it is (like "#star wars" or "#columbo")
I deliberately chose stuff that I personally post about to avoid giving away my secrets
I'm on the fence about this.
one side: tagging means discoverable. some posts aren't for the whole fandom to see
otherside: as you've said, tagging allows opt-out filtering (rather than opt-in like cws)
yeah, I have a feature request out for the devs to mark posts as unsearchable by tag which I think will help make more people comfortable tagging more stuff
but also, this isn't tumblr, there isn't the same density of rabid fans getting het up at strangers after tagsearching (and if there were there's actual moderation to deal with it)
i thought this was gonna be about finding posts about a piece of media, but filtering columbo posts out is valid too i guess....... not gonna judge anyone............... [silently judging]
