like, i just loaded up LOOM on the steam deck to see if it was possible & to hear some choice VO, and you know... the initial walk down the lookout path at sunset, into the weaver's commune, the little seagulls by the dock... it's not impossible.
definitely yeah, it's a game whose storytelling feels like its backbone is the environment backdrops - the quasi Roger Dean esque karst mountains of the starting island, the geometric beach garden of the glassmakers, the misty pastures of the shepherds, etc. this is basically the "diversity of strongly themed environments" that Unreal (1998)'s level progression did great things with, and has definitely been used by Doom and Doom-lineage projects for decades.
