too long have we toiled under the weight of the elephant in the room- how do we refer to the posts we post to cohost dot org without having to say "post on cohost" in full?
some solutions have been offered - all divisive, even amongst the staff of this website. chost. copost. bug/rebug. simply, uselessly, "post".
allow me to offer a simple solution, though it may appear to be the path of chaos:
cohst
pronounced as "coast". if the "oh" spelling does too much violence to your eyes, it may also be spelled cōst. try saying it out loud.
example of usage:
person a:
hey did you see that great cohst about how to refer to posts on cohost?
person b:
yeah i recohsted it immediately.
my hope is that this will at least save people time when they have to say it verbally irl.
this cohst brought to you by my partner's brain shorting out every time she attempts to say "post on cohost"
