i say timely as if this is applicable just to the present moment, but honestly this argument is evergreen
it's on Prime and you get the impression that they're very much like "okay, we'll take your money and make it into a thinly veiled communist manifesto masquerading as a surreal superhero thing"

this video about tiktok and just general algorithmically driven art is pretty good, though i think the diagnosis of "we know we want more than sludge, deep down" is missing a couple angles of discussion from a more hard leftist perspective that could help buttress the argument. i might make a more detailed critique of this later to explain what i mean, but watch the video either way
