roughly 7 years ago i made a weird noise album using recordings from over 5 years of parties i went to, walks in the cities i lived in, long drives on the highway i went on probably too often, appliances i owned or rented, and quiet moments i shared with rain storms on apartment balconies and patios. you can find it here:

slow sad echoes

the album title is a line stolen directly from Unwoman's "Long Long Shadows" - most of the tracks on my album were made by slowing noises down, gradually fluctuating the loudness, and adding a reverb effect to some of the backing noises so that they echoed in a way that made the tracks feel like they had a bit more direction, so "slow sad echoes" felt pretty descriptive. the album art is the reverse image of a marker drawing i made, using contrasting colors that are unfortunately not very red-green colorblindness friendly since it's just red and green. it depicts one of my friends playing shin megami tensei 4 on the 3ds. i just kinda liked how the bled-through image looked- something about accidental effects as a result of intentional processes fascinated me then, and still does, but i've never quite figured out what it is.

there are a couple music videos- basically just slowed down video that i liked because i was an art student and the distortion was novel to me- and i think they work with the overall vibe. you can find them on my vimeo if you're interested.
