avatar is a much more humanoid depiction of my OC Arwen Tachht than is strictly accurate, made in this Picrew. (I have humanoidsonas for my non-humanoid OCs because I cannot draw them myself and must rely on dollmakers and such, hooray chronic pain)

As of last night, thanks to the assembly efforts of a friend of mine, I officially have a PC build with a Real GPU™️ in it! You know what this means—time for me to become Extremely Normal about Baldur’s Gate 3 and also sink as much time into Skyrim Anniversary Edition as I have into Legendary Edition (which is an estimated 3,000+ hours across platforms), now that I can actually play them both without my poor integrated graphics chip bursting into flames.

I spent 7-ish hours today setting up a load order for Skyrim: The Fancy Version, and I have a list of mods that have been recommended to me for Galdur’s Bate (and a minimum of them already installed). I also have several characters with builds planned for the latter game already. I am absolutely normal and can be trusted with fantasy RPGs that let you play as a reptile person.

(Speaking of which, in the process of making my Skyrim modlist I also discovered a mod with both LE and SE versions that adds a very feathery and dinosaur-like Argonian subtype called the Sarpa as a playable race, a mod which was made to be used as an asset for the upcoming Beyond Skyrim: Argonia. I was tempted to add the SE version to my modlist, but then I remembered all the hoops I had to jump through to get RaceCompatibility working with my vampire and werewolf overhauls. Definitely adding the LE version of that to my mod profile that’s already set up for custom playable races, though. Totally not because I’m a dinosaur furry. Also totally not because the males and females are indistinguishable except for their different coloration ranges and I have extreme gender dysphoria that makes androgyny desirable as all hell.)

It took 7 more hours of tweaking in xEdit1 and a reboot of my PC2 in order to to get this mod set up the way I want it to be. But it's so worth it! Look at this beautiful dinosaur! I named them after my sona!

  1. Mostly manually integrating the Sarpa mod with Imperious and Sacrosanct and adding the right keywords and stuff so that the game would treat Sarpa as Argonians, though most of the extra time came from the fact that the LE "port" of this mod was still using Form 44, and when I re-saved it and the merged patch my tweaks were in using the LE Creation Kit, the CK mangled the merged patch and I had to manually redo all of that work I'd just done and then some. That'll teach me not to put all my eggs in one basket... (Shit, I just realized I forgot to see if Growl works with them, but ehhh I've spent enough time on this already, I can just not make any lycanthropic Sarpa characters until I decide to test/fix that, it's fine)

  2. To fix an unrelated bug where LE Skyrim wasn't recognizing my keyboard input, even after trying every other fix I could find online.
