tabletop rpg obsessed, particularly lancer, icon, cain, the treacherous turn, eclipse phase, and pathfinder 2e. also a fan of the elder scrolls and star wars, an avid gamer and reader of webcomics, and when my brain cooperates, a hobbyist writer.
the urge to share my creations versus the horrifying ordeal of being perceived. fight of the millennium. anyway posts about my ocs are tagged with "mal's ocs" (minus the quotes). posts about or containing my writing are tagged with "mal's writing" (again, sans quotes). posts about my sci-fi setting specifically are tagged "the eating of names". i'd pin the latter two if they were actually among my top 15 most used tags lol. fair warning, my writing tends to be quite dark and deal with some heavy themes.
avatar is a much more humanoid depiction of my OC Arwen Tachht than is strictly accurate, made in this Picrew. (I have humanoidsonas for my non-humanoid OCs because I cannot draw them myself and must rely on dollmakers and such, hooray chronic pain)
I've always wanted to get into figurine collecting, because I love the idea of a figurine shelf full of things I like. It just makes my brain meats happy. But there's always a couple issues that have always held me back.
#1) The only merch that's ever made is of random anime girls from series I've never heard of, and they all look exactly the same.
#2) If by some miracle a character from a franchise I enjoy gets a figurine made, they aren't 60-80 dollars like the others. They're like 400 dollars. Looking at you, Skies of Arcadia Aika figurine.
So with these two issues, I've basically only gotten Amiibo and some gacha packs.
Well, someone yesterday linked me to something that is affordable, and also from a series I like.
And of course it's Jack-o doing the fucking pose.
If you're interested, here's a link. You'll also note that this company DOES make other Guilty Gear figurines. I'm not a Jack-O player, and not SUPER into her character, so I checked out the other ones, to find a May, Goldlewis, or Brisket figurine. The May and Brisket figurines are hundreds, and of course no one's ever made a Goldlewis figurine, not enough people have taste and class. So, my two laws of Figurines strike again.
Shout outs to my two Holy Grail figurines.
Aika is 450 dollars, Cio was 300. I do not have that kinda money for hunks of plastic. My monthly income is just barely over 450 lmfao But god DAMN I want them.
I was really, REALLY close to buying that statue when it was announced a year and change ago. I wanted to scrounge up 300 dollars real bad. But I heard, at the time, "oh be careful, this company is getting into NFTs". This was when NFTs were REALLY picking up speed
Anyways, dodged THAT bullet I fucking guess. The company went outta business sometime late last year, and not a single one of these was made. That sucks so, so hard. I guess they still have the 3D model though, right? So SOMEONE could make the Cio statues?
Y'all
I was reading old K6BD panels again and got sad.
Kill Six Billion Demons is finally nearing its end, and it's getting to some Good Stuff. We've got some wonderful reunions recently, but... she won't be there.
I miss her a lot. Shes one of my favorite characters like, anywhere lol let alone in K6BD. She just wanted to be happy and write about girls kissing (and maybe kiss A girl if shes lucky)
There is a horrible gremlin shaped hole in my heart.
