sitting with the memory and enduring the discomfort can help sometimes, if you can remind yourself that the embarrassment isn't present/think about how it's not as bad as you think it is? or mindfulness/distraction through experiencing the moment you're in as you're in it can often work in the moment. thought stopping/directly trying to not think about something in the moment rarely works for long unfortunately

i've never found a permanent method though, and i hate that feeling a lot myself so, good luck!!

Actively deny the memory. Tell yourself "I am NOT going to think about this" and make the conscious decision to think about something else 'loudly' if that makes any sense. I've gone so far as the "visualize a brick wall to repel psychic attack" method to turn my mind away.

Everyone's inner life is different, so maybe this won't help, but it's what works for me
