Today I am going to be awake for about 20 hours so I can see My Chemical Romance in concert. The first time I saw the band perform was their SNL performance. I'd never seen or heard of them prior to that, I wasn't big into music.
I had just driven nine hours home from college, was decompressing after the trip in a completely dark room at my parent's house, and they sang Cancer. It was haunting.
I love concept albums. Any concept albums, especially one as well done as that that caught me at exactly the right time. I always find it interesting to see how broad their appeal is, too. I thought that music was solely the purview of angsty teens who are now 34, but clearly they hit a wider swath than that.
It's going to be really interesting to see who is in the audience tonight. I think for a lot of us, this is going to be something we didn't think we'd get to experience. I'm expecting a fun night
