I like the idea of unsolvable magical problems being solved by some nerd in a barely related field who's just looking for an easy way to water a houseplant or something, the way video game programmers kept doing with computing back in the 80s and 90s

"The healing powers of the Emerald Prism Wand CANNOT raise the dead. That's true. But what you CAN do is reverse the cellular necrosis and give you a pristine, 'healthy' soulless husk. And then you use the time powers of the Sapphire Heart-Shaped Compact to go back in time--"

"The Sapphire Compact doesn't let you change history, though!"

"--Yes, but we aren't doing that. We're going back in time and capturing the dead person's soul as it leaves their body with the Black Baguette-Cut Onyx of the Soul--no changes to the timeline!--and then redepositing it in the healthy cadaver. Presto, Maria is back!"

"How...? Where am I?"

"I've been using this to bring my cacti back to life when I over-water them. Please don't tell my parents, they said I could have a cat if I kept the plants alive, and it's not fair, cause it's not like you can over-water a cat! And even if I DO, I have a fix for that, now!"
