When I was starting out in FFXIV I went with ACN because I wanted to play SMN, pet classes were always my jam and that occasion was no exception. I didn't know anything about SCH at the time, but my girlfriend was annoyed at how long DPS queues were so I went to go try it as soon as we unlocked jobs.
It had a fairy. I'd been a healer player in every other MMO I played before XIV. Match made in heaven, really! I took the job with me when I started raiding, which was around the final tier of Alexander. Juggling 2-3 DoTs and Cleric Stance and a pet while healing was genuinely the height of my engagement with the game.
From there to now, my main jobs also include RDM, MCH, RPR and PLD! (when I am forced to tank while kicking and screaming)
For the current raid tier, I've been playing DRG, another one of our group has kept an iron grip on RPR for the entire expansion cycle. More of ours have been wanting to heal too, but I'm awaiting the day I can play healsquad with my girlfriend for a tier again... ;w ;
