call me old fashioned but i sort of miss the era of installing programs locally that do a task well in a specific way and then you can just decide to never ever touch it again. you can just have a thing that works and it stays working because nothing has changed about the thing that is doing the task you want it to do. i'm maybe somewhat jaded about software

"what about updates that add more functionality" i don't want more functionality i want exactly the functionality that i need . if i have to do something else i will kludge together a solution or i will find another program. i don't need 67 additional smart tools in my photoshop i would just like to have photoshop actually
