there are a lot of people who perform or compete in (especially Nintendo??) games who haven’t made peace with the jank in their game of choice. like Melee players will get so salty about dumb stuff that happens in that game and yet they refuse to even play on the latest patch. being able to laugh stuff off instead is much more fun for everyone involved imo

To be fair, past a couple in the intro, just about all the speedrunners in footage from the later examples shown in the video react with pure surprise and zero anger; plenty of them are able to laugh it off perfectly well even in circumstances where pure chance costs them hours of effort

it's cool to see that this weird hit-or-miss phenomenon does happen in the wild, but it felt like the clips got louder and angrier as the video went on and it left me with such an unpleasant vibe afterwards
