So, let's say- just a silly little hypothetical here- I know a guy who may or may not be using irfanviewer as a simple image viewer because they found it 10+ years ago and don't really know anything else. I mean, I already know what I'd tell them; haha; but what would you recommend them?
i don't know that i have much to recommend because i just use windows' built-in tools. i'm sure irfanviewer has its uses but to me it's always just seemed like extra hassle?
i've only interacted with the program on other people's computers and it's only ever gotten on my nerves in some arcane fashion – if i had a nickel for blah blah blah i'd have two nickels etc
I started using it when I was, like, ~12 y/o because the windows 7 image viewer didn't support pressing the arrow keys to go to the next folder or something. Can't quite remember my reasons, I've just been downloading it on every computer I've owned since, assuming it's better than the default image viewer, lol.
I'm sure it can do other things with the right extensions, but I only really use it as an image viewer and getting on your "nerves in some arcane fashion" is an apt description. I think I might just go back to using the default windows one, since it seems to do the things I want now and it's not like I use them much in the first place anymore.
