Shot in the dark, maybe it's some type of vertigo (BPPV is the most common type, I think)? My mom gets that pretty intensely every few months or so.

I think it's something like- there's little crystals or whatever floating in the inner ear that can float to a bad spot and screw with your sense of balance. Usually associated with dizziness, I think "less intense" cases can result in anxiety, loss of focus, other things.

If you start experiencing the symptoms again, there's some exercises (epley maneuver &c.) that might help get them to flow back in place and maybe you inadvertently did those motions throughout the day and then laying down? Idk, they don't help my mom, but they're supposedly pretty effective for most cases.

I don't really know about any other stuff though, your description just reminds me of vertigo. I'd maybe first consult a physical therapist (or the kind of chiropractor who's basically just an unlicensed physical therapist. I don't trust chiro's generally, so be discerning on that!).

The body is a weird system of complex mechanisms. One day I heard a pop around my jaw and then I had bad tinnitus until I went to bed at a decent time. That anybody knows anything about the body is amazing.
