I do not get folks who announce they're using machine learning tools to make images/writing and say they know it's bad but try to do it anyway. Why openly admit that you're doing something you feel is bad to people who will just tell you not to do it? Are you looking for a way out or just trying to find the people in the crowd who will cheer you on?

If I was compromising my character, I would at least not openly blab about it online to my peers!

i really felt like one of these cases was definitely someone feeling it weighing on their consciousness and, rather than make a decision about it themselves, put it to a council of peers, who said "this sucks!" and let them pivot to "yes. i agree. so i will now, not do this."

I think what happened in that case at least came from a genuine place of concern. Sadly not the same conclusion I saw others go through on other spots where they just decided it was easier to just shortcut their morals with ML junk.
