I made this joke card a couple years ago, and in remembering that I made it, I accidentally started theorycrafting a Chaos Code archetype

A friend suggested that it be a Link archetype focused around a field spell that lets you banish Link monsters from GY as material for link summons. This led me to an idea of emulating the Chaos Code mechanic where you select your character’s “bounce” (run or step dash) and extra special/super moves, and I’ve settled on that being the archetype having a way to change the attribute of its monsters, and the monsters gain access to different effects based on what attribute it is

I feel like the bounces would be alternate versions of ED monsters. Like a link being run bravo but a synchro being step bravo. Celia and Cthyla get xyz and fusions since they have different styles of run/step. Extra moves could be spells the monsters let you search for

oh wait that would actually be really interesting, since that would emulate the fact that you’re committing to your choice of bounce to a degree. I imagine it’d make the archetype really open-ended in terms of deckbuilding, too

You could give them the same name, or an effect that makes the names always the same ala harpy lady #1-3, so that your choice of bounce in deckbuilding actually carries through. It would also make hard once per turns potentially apply to both versions of the card depending on how you word it
