I don't like being political, because I always feel it really makes people distance from me, but whatever goes. There's a law in the works in Russia that bans transgender transitions outright. Basically, I'm never going to be able to change my birth certificate, and a lot of people will lose their HRT access.
Right now, it seems inevitable. But here's the kicker - when prominent opposition figures were asked to comment on this bill, they either declined or spat out downright homophobia.
For me this made it clear why many Ukrainians say that Russia's opposition isn't any different from Putin. Yes, the only difference is that they're not in power. Other than that, it's the same level of chauvinism towards minorities and neighboring countries.
Honestly, I've no clue what to do about this situation. I'm exceedingly lucky being in a safe country for now, but even then, this safety looks... brittle.
