I kinda get what they're trying to say. It's not nostalgia; it's "why can't modern tech be this snappy when some older tech slapped together is".
(The answer of course is that modern tech is doing so much more. Sure, the Commodore 64 could run a word processor, but it supported exactly one language and had many, many other limitations that modern software doesn't have.)
well, like, if you're running Win 10 on a 13600K with a Gen 5 SSD, then of course it would be pretty snappy too. it's just that kind of comparison.
