i live in New Zealand.

i'm 36. 🏳️‍⚧️ i feel ancient.

Been randomly thinking about what human body would need for four-armed body modification (ya i have weird desires). By the skeleton structure alone it would be additional shoulder blades, additional collarbones (and this time they need to be mounted on some ribs, therefore these ribs need strengthening), spine strengthening/enlargement, additional muscles and connective tissue...

I've seen one comic book (maybe some version of John Carter of Mars?) depicting a four-armed alien that basically had a whole second torso on top of the first one. Imagine that the collarbone of the lower torso become the hips of the upper torso. This presents some serious questions about the internal anatomy, but resolves some issues with muscle & skeleton structure.

I found a picture, this is probably the comic I'm remembering.

That's probably too far in that direction. But I think it's worth wondering if there's some approach using a segmented torso where the ribcage repeats itself, rather than trying to staple arms and arm infrastructure to the middle of the ribcage.
