Okay, let's try writing long-form stuff, I haven't written anything like that in years after departing LiveJournal.
A thing came to mind. I was reminded of Ron Hubbards' Battlefield: Earth, which was written in a typical pulp style; an absolutely terrible saga, horribly written, winded and uncontrollable. A saga with the flattest and most cardboard characters I've ever seen. It may seem that Battlefield is worth reading because of its sheer ridiculous worthlessness. No. It's disgusting and tiresome beyond belief.
Even Travolta, in the adaptation, played it pretty flat.
It brings up a purely physical episode from Battlefield to mind. Several years after the inexplicably confusing destruction of the Psychlos planet by atomic bombs. Humans had teleported a camera into space to record the destruction process from a few light years away. They recorded it, teleported the camera back. And... it turned out to be frozen.
And I somehow managed to finish reading it.
