if there's a brazillian singer performance to watch, it's Elis Regina and it's this one
for context, this was during the dictatorship, so it's a bitter song about how political change doesn't occur, and yet it must. her performance is incredible. the way she looks directly at us as she screams and sings and yells. she oscillates between the strength and imposing of an army of battle tanks and the fragility of a scared, lonely person laid bare. there really isn't another singer like Elis Regina.
(also it's a TREASURE TROVE of expressions and gestures to draw if you're an illustrator and want to practice a wide range of those!)
