if you plan it out far enough ahead, you could record puppy itself saying the phrases for the buttons, before you break its brain. of course your puppy will have forgotten about those recordings when you bring out the buttons, what a surprise it will be for your puppy! hearing its own voice saying words it doesn't even know! what magic powers did mommy use to make those buttons with its voice?? silly puppy.
