i've seen multiple people talking about this cohost meta accessibility discourse shit say stuff like "what can we do but be vague? if we tag the person, that's going to direct harassment at them!"

cohost isn't very big and the person you're vagueposting about has undoubtedly had some of the posts about them cross their feed. i know this from experience :)

"what should we do instead?" well: speak to the person directly! you can reply in reposts! you can leave comments! you can send asks! people on here are vague and annoying instead of just like talking to the people they have a problem with directly and like i don't fucking get it.

i can't speak for everyone but like my ask box is open to everyone, and the same goes for my tumblr linked in my profile. my DMs are open to anyone on twitter/x (answers to both). anyone can tweet at me. my chats are open on tumblr. you can fuckin... skeet at me on bluesky or whatever the fuck posts are called there. when people were foaming at the mouth over cheets of all things, nobody bothered like actually talking to me. it's a very odd atmosphere on here. you're talking about people behind their backs, but loudly enough that they can hear, and insisting it is more polite. it's just weird

in reply to @slimelia's post:

On the one hand I assume people don't engage directly because so many of these situations involve people blocking each other.

On the other hand blocking someone means it should be even easier to at least say who you're talking about so ๐Ÿค”

blocking doesn't seem to take place because the discourse on here is always like... nothing. like "i blocked someone because they want better accessibility" is not a thing anyone on here is gonna say. it seems like people get really annoyed over very minor stuff on here but they at least know its small enough to not warrant a hard block? but then it just leads to Problems. so i don't get it

i feel like i always see twitter or tumblr posts floating around that are like "learn to have a small friend group chat where you can be a little hater about stupid shit that doesnt matter, AND NOT BROADCAST IT WHICH WOULD MAKE YOU A BASTARD" and we need to bring that etiquette back here too LOL
