i never went to Mastodon but i'm starting to pick up that there's a fair few people who came to Cohost because they disliked the atmosphere on Mastodon but have not yet realised THEY created that atmosphere. oh well

Honestly after seeing an artist I follow get harassed and accused of "having twitter brainrot" because they harmlessly talked about how the site could better serve them (Not to mention that brief time Cheets were a hot topic, but you of all people remember that much) - I'd extend this way past just Mastodon's culture. It feels like there's a non insignificant amount of people who just.. cannot self-examine here.
the circles i move in are very much NOT like cohost for the most part so the tonal whiplash i got from witnessing discourse on here was insane lmao. it's kind of a website full of 30-year-old babies. i'm used to bitchy british twitter gays who'll have it out publicly and then block one another and be done with the whole affair. or keep their complaints to private group chats
