i wonder if some of the industry giants are going to fight the Unity thing at all. not many of them use Unity in their in-house dev studios but many have mobile games and spinoffs they've published and a lot of those use Unity. also even it they don't use Unity, it's one hell of a dangerous precedent to be set for game engines to demand money for anything you've previously released. so MAYBE they'll try to fight it?? but also a lot of them have their own proprietary game engines so they might see what Unity are doing and just copy them :/

Honestly beleive there will be heavy opposition from the other big corporations, yeah. Valve (Bridge Constructor Portal), Bethesda (Doom 1 & 2 Re-Releases), and Square Enix (Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters) are just the three big corpos with unity games installed on my D:\ drive. - And considering some of that knobhead of a CEO's comments, I have reason to beleive NVIDIA and Microsoft would want a crack at them, too. Sadly most of the games I can list off are Indie or Indie Adjacent, though, which.. is harrowing.

As best as I read it, every time you run a game through a streaming service (Geforce Now and Xbox Game Pass - I guess Playstation Now too, while I think of it), that counts as an install. Which is.. certainly problematic for the libraries of streaming services.
