we need to make it so foolproof and easy to host a server that your nan could do it. how comes there's no service where you sign up, pay for a server, and choose what software you want to deploy (mastodon instance, xmpp server, etc) and away you go. DNS records handled for you. SSL certs handled for you. no technical knowledge needed, just easy GUIs that are simple and clear. tick boxes. etc. very low barrier to entry. imagine the web ecosystem if hosting your own fediverse instance was ridiculously simple
