the main thing that a lot of chatter about AI art and procedurally generated art seems to miss, for me, is that i think at least right now, i think it makes most sense to say that the ai itself is the art - a database and algorithm that can generate images is itself a piece of art as developed by the humans that made it. and my main takeaway from this, when it comes to algorithmic plagiarism, is that it really simplifies that discussion - the creators of the neural network are the ones who plagiarized other artists!
