It's really nice!!! I really like old dinosaur art, like they get quite a few things wrong (like the drooping tail in this case, if I know my dinos right) but there's still so much focus on creating this immersive connection to this ancient animal!! πŸ’ž It's the same with exhibitions and art today really!
(Also the explosion in dinosaur knowledge during the 1800s has at least in my view a lot of ties to industrialisation and colonisation, shan't make this comment any longer by talking about all of that but !! Some day I'll write properly about it)

I look forward to it! I find how the Industrial Revolution and its impact on modern culture just so fascinating. Like egyptification in the early 1900s, for example. It one reason I love art nouveau so much, it’s a direct reaction to industrialization, albeit a hypocritical one. I never really thought about why dinosaurs became such a thing then though!

that's really interesting! Really need to read more about art Nouveau, really love the style but never thought super much about its history! Seems like a lot of 1800s culture is just reacting to and dealing with industrialisation, which I guess is understandable but also interesting.

It feels kind of familiar, right? A huge advancement shakes the core of society, we realize we understand so much less than we thought we did, and different people process it in different ways. That’s my favorite thing about art, it’s such a visual representation of how society evolved and how people processed it.
