A little bit before Thanksgiving I found out I had to make a decision to renew my lease for another year commitment or move out by the end of December. I was hoping to go month to month to give myself some more time after my lease expired, but that apparently was not an option because I'm on government subsidized housing. Unfortunately, even with it being subsidized, the rent and cost of living here has increased past my ability to afford.
While staying where I am is too expensive, moving is ALSO expensive. I'm moving 40 miles north to Baltimore, into a lovely row home with a long time friend. I'm excited to be closer to the local art community that I love, and to set up a veggie garden in the backyard. So many things to look forward to, but at the same time I am also very stressed by how big a hit my finances will take in the immediacy.
I HATE asking for money, but this is where I find myself at the moment. If folks would be willing to share my Go Fund Me or contribute, I would be entirely grateful for the help! Thank you!
Margaret and I officially signed the lease and put down our deposits for the new place! We're so excited for the opportunity to make this space our own and to pursue creative projects together!
Thank you to everyone who has shared and/or contributed to my GoFundMe. With your help I am able to pay the deposit and on Dec 16, my part of the first rent payment. If we are able to reach goal, I would be able to pay for the movers out of pocket and avoid accruing an additional credit card fee. With all the big payments I'm balancing this month--rent at old place; deposit, rent, utilities, installation fees for new place--not having to pay unexpected additional fees would be a great relief!
Please continue to share this with friends and/or contribute a little bit if you can! Thank you all again so very much!
