when i refer to my deadname, my use of that term is in no way lacking compassion for the person i used to be or the original context of my naming
"dead" is not a property i attribute to that name out of malice or disgust; it's a natural part of the life cycle of anything that lives or lived
it's an invitation to mourn or celebrate or memorialize the deceased as appropriate and a gentle admonition not to cling overlong to something that has run its full course
