My brother and my dad dug through my family's old box of childhood legos and gathered the pieces for my favorite couple of lego sets from when I was a kid. They cleaned them up, ordered replacements for the pieces they couldn't find, and gave them to me for Christmas.
It was really special and unexpected, and today as some winter weather came through I got to assemble it at home.
I love the Ice Planet 2002 sets. This one is the Deep Freeze Defender. The front two pods with the orange cockpit glass can detach from the main body of the ship. The middle bit flips up to reveal a big rocket, and the orange and white panels on the top slide down to eject a guy on a little sled. It's just such a cool design!
And it was a lot of fun to relive building this set I first put together some 25 years ago.
