honestly i don't think duolingo's terrible as a springboard for japanese, just for learning the basics. it started to break down for me after about 100 days, but i learned at least enough to recognize some basic sentence structure? which is a lot coming from "i don't know what any of these funny symbols mean", so
as someone who Does know what the funny symbols mean it might maybe be more useful but idk, i just need something to kinda get me back in the groove of things if nothing else
i don't think it could hurt! especially if you do other studies on the side as well
yeah if it teaches basic sentences & phrases n such that's real cool, i feel like kanji and more complex shit would Have to involve more focus on my part
