because it sometimes feels like even leftists get lost in viewing the individual people in the system as the problem and not the system itself; no one is immune from cultural background noise. The whole point of leftism, of systemic critique, is to build a system which does mostly the right thing regardless of the personal morality of the actors.
I've had to explain to many people on their journey leftwards that "acab" is not about the individual cops per se, but that the structure "police" is one of bastardry in and of itself. To be a cop is to take up the job "bastard", regardless of personal morality. But the term "acab" does not communicate that concept very well.
Kinda reminding me of the recent Little Joel video where he talks about how a lot of people confuse "good leftist" and "good person". Moral crusading is not the point and we should maybe tamp it down a bit in favor of centering the structural critique. Not as a moral matter, but as a strategic one.
