EDIT: Added a few more tips for porn posters here

Boy! Big day! Lotsa new cumbrains here in the house that Eggbug built, huh? With all the new faces, I felt I'd do a little PSA with some things to keep in mind when delivering and/or consuming your smut.

First off, for anyone who doesn't want porn on their TL or has specific things you don't want to see when consuming porn:

  • IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE ADULT CONTENT AT ALL: Go into your settings and make sure "hide adult content behind a clickthrough?" is toggled on! If you see adult content that doesn't have the toggle turned on, you can either report it so staff can turn it on, or just drop the person a comment letting them know to turn it on.
  • IF YOU HAVE SPECIFIC CONTENT YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE: Go into your settings and fill out the "filtered content warnings" and "filtered tags" sections, which should take care of most if not all of the risky stuff.
  • IF YOU'RE THE SORT OF PERSON WHO SIFTS THROUGH PEOPLE'S FOLLOWING LISTS OR LIKES SEARCHING FOR EVIDENCE OF THOUGHTCRIME: Fuck you! Following lists and likes are private! Genuinely, go fuck yourself! If you don't like the porn other people are posting, you're 100% free to mute or block them, but if your goal in coming to Cohost is to cosplay as some kind of cop-ass moral majority agitator, fuck off!

Now, for people posting 18+ content:

  • FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES: I promise they're a very quick read. The tl;dr is that as far as 18+ content goes, almost anything goes for written content (with appropriate tags), and the only restrictions on art are that you can't post anything featuring characters who are "apparently minors" (more on that below). Definitely familiarize yourself with the stuff under the strongly-recommended and mandatory content warnings sections.
  • IF YOU'RE POSTING A MIX OF SFW & NSFW, MAKE SURE YOUR NSFW HAS THE "ADULT CONTENT" TOGGLED ON: Pretty self-explanatory. Keeps glossy high-definition PNGs of tittyfucking from popping up on someone's feed when they're browsing the site from a public computer at work.
  • TAG YOUR KINKS, ESPECIALLY THE HARD ONES: Noncon, blood, gore, incest, and the like - all these are allowed, just make sure you tag them so that people with those tags muted can keep their TLs clear (and so your work can find its intended audience).
  • ART FEATURING "APPARENTLY MINORS": What this translates to in my understanding (based on conversations I've had with staff members) is that 18+ art of minor characters as-is is no bueno but good-faith aging-up of characters is alright. Obviously this is one area where certain arbitrary judgment calls might be made, but staff aren't really interested in consulting wikis about precise character ages - my advice is to use the "reasonable clueless person" rule when deciding whether to post something. Would a reasonable person unfamiliar with the characters think that they're minors or adults? If it's the latter, you're probably good. There's a chance your stuff might still get taken down if staff disagree, but generally speaking as long as you're being reasonable you should be fine.

in reply to @Bigg's post:

I do have a weird awkward question about nsfw art tagging and what's permitted here regarding the minors rule

There's a genre that seems borderline that I don't know how it fits. It's called "oneshota" or "oneeshota". It typically deals with a mom or older sister type character and a shota. Big woman little boy. Usually focused more on the woman than the boy, I think because the fantasy is typically from the boy's POV.

I figure the rules would forbid this in any situation where the shota is participating in sex acts, but what about situations where the boy is clothed but the woman is not? Is the boy being in a sexual situation where the woman is explicit enough to ban it, or does this fall under "non-explicit art with suggestive themes" because the boy himself isn't explicit?

Actually in that regard, what about non-explicit depictions of oneshota in general? "non-explicit art with suggestive themes is allowed with a mandatory content warning", would this involve stuff like Miss Caretaker of Sunohara-sou or Lucoa/Shouta from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid? Or would it not because the sexualization is focused on the woman and not the boy?

I'm not an actual member of @staff so don't take this as gospel, but for the oneeshota thing since it's still an apparent minor rendered what is pretty inarguably a sexual situation I'd say no dice. I'm not familiar enough with the manga you mentioned to venture an opinion. You can try e-mailing support for a more definitive ruling if you like
