As you travel, you encounter a strange sight. A jewel, as large as your thumb, is placed perfectly on a dinner plate on the ground. Above it, propped up by a stick, is a large wooden crate. The stick seems to be stable enough to hold this box, the kind used as containers aboard ships, upright. The jewel is a cut and polished piece of sapphire.
Immediately to the right of this trap is a tree. And behind that tree, not obscured in the slightest, is a giant. He has a bowlcut hair style and rugged clothing made of sewn animal hides. Were he to stand, he would be at least 18 feet tall. He sits cross-legged, holding a rope in one hand and his head in his other hand. He is asleep. A gentle “mi-mi-mi” escapes his lips. Then a “honk-shoe”. Then another “mi-mi-mi”. At his side is a wooden club roughly the size of your body.
What do you do?
-
Take the jewel. The giant is asleep, perhaps this is good fortune.
-
Wake the giant. Perhaps this fellow could use some company (and pointers on trap-setting).
-
Leave. This creature could crush you to a pulp if he wished. There is no sense messing with anything here.
