It's really really really good.
I wanted something similar to Ancient Detective since that show was fabulous and hit all the right notes for me. Mysterious Lotus Casebook seems to fit the bill!
Five episodes in and you already have a Ghost in the Takaido Inn situation with a ghost murderer!
Is it? Nooo....:( I really didn't like the first two episodes.
sigh Most people say it's good tho and I'm doubting myself.
I finished the first five episodes last night and I felt way better about it.
The first two episodes were definitely weak! I totally agree there.
I will eventually give it another shot, I think. But I'm a bit burnt out on wuxia for the moment, "Side Story of Fox Volant" kinda destroyed me by how good it was.

It's more of a vibe than him constantly making super fancy moves. He looks like he might actually know kung fu and I believe him when he threatens to fight someone.
Quite a few dramas market themselves on how their lead actor did their own stunts and whatnot, Lotus Casebook included btw.
But quite often they don't really have that thing. That vibe.
The whole drama feels quite oldschool, like something from the 90s and he fits in well.
