And really it was one of the most fun sessions of D&D I've had in forever. They have just like, not only totally screwed themselves over, but they have potentially endangered the entire world.
It was really fun scrambling to figure out on my end how the fuck things would possibly shake out. And it was fun for my players to see me scramble haha
Safe wizards know only to teleport to sigils they've verified as secure and legitimate. Teleporting at will is risky business. That's how Grishram the Wise died. Teleported himself into the Nine Hells. Tripped over an imp and fell on his head.
It's actually turned into "call up our wizard friend to save us and burn some favors"
I LOVE giving my players potentially adventure-breaking abilities and objects. Most players don't even know what to do with REAL power, and ultimately always just end up making life worse for themselves (and innocent NPCs) somehow xD
