I was watering my serissa japonica and decided to take some pictures. I even got to use a cute mini folding screen I picked up from the fall bonsai club meeting.
I'm happy with many aspects of the tree, but there's still a lot of work to do. The planting angle is wrong and will be fixed when it's repotted in the spring. I also think the apex is too vertical. I'll probably prune it back pretty hard this upcoming year so I can get new shoots that I can wire up to get the shape I want. I want the center trunk taller than the side trunks, but not THAT much taller.
I'm happy with the fact that I've kept this alive, considering how it is one of my oldest trees. I'm also happy with the triple trunk. And I've learned enough about pruning it that I think I can manage growth better in the future.
