I think you would've needed to up the lewdness (or downplayed the "realness" of your mommy's anger, like ya said) of the other aspects of the story if you included the spankings in order to try and get the tone you were going for.
I agree that it would've given off some abusive vibes if you just plunked it in without changing anything else, but some people enjoy that kinda tone in their fiction! That doesn't seem to be the general vibe of the Teen Snazzy-verse, though, imo

Whenever I write, I tend to have an idea in mind and some "ooo that would be fun to include" concepts, but often I will meander and write about a lot of other stuff. I surprise myself with how different most of my stuff comes out compared to the image in my head.
It's a lil annoying because sometimes I really want to include specific fetish ideas but it doesn't fit. But then I can always use those later!
In this specific case I actually worked backwards. I REALLY wanted Snazzy to get in trouble and mumble "this is fucking bullshit" because that's SUUUUUCH a teenage thing to do. So I kinda engineered this situation so that this would happen.
Yeah, spanking your kid out of anger can (and arguably should) be read as child abuse. That probably hits a bit too close to home for some readers including myself, so I'm glad you didn't include it.

I really like the idea of "maintenance spankings" where you get regular spankings that KEEP you as a good boy/girl. So it's like a daily ritual. But as a punishment in that situation it would have been really bad.
