i enjoyed posting sequences as rechosts but in my case the second part of the sequence was done like a week later so it made the most sense to rechost the first post anyways. tough call!

Doing sequences in a single post is most common, but not universal. If you make a thread of the sequence, only tagging the last post is easier and avoids spamming the tags—cohost will always bring the full context with it. The two ways new people will find your posts are shares from people they follow, or tag searches/the bookmarked tag feed; which makes tags your main directly controllable source of discoverability.

Also if you're on someone's page you can click a tag on their post to see a feed of every time they've used that tag; so tags have some utility at organising your own stuff too. We use it on our own page to find old posts sometimes.
