Something I've noticed a lot in open source communities is that they'll let any behavior from a software dev slide as long as they like their development philosophy. Just look at shit like the G*MP devs orchestrating online harassment campaigns towards anyone who pointed out their software acronym was a slur. Hell, not even to mention all the controversies the retroarch team have found themselves in over the years (well, mostly one dev in particular, but the other devs protect him because he's "important to development" even though he's potentially linked to multiple fucking suicides). You don't even have to make good software, you just have to talk big game about how Libre your project is. Wish this attitude would change but considering a lot of cishet Linux users are libertarian fuckwits I doubt this would happen anytime soon.
