I keep having weird issues with steamos desktop, like it randomly freezes from time to time, letting me move the mouse around but unable to click on anything or open the task manager, or it won’t detect my second monitor sometimes. Also I can’t run MediBang or clip studio paint on Linux, and there’s no way I know of to use my iPad with Linux at all (I use astropad on my iPad as a drawing tablet). Discord screenshare doesn’t share desktop audio. Stuff like that, lots of relatively minor things that build into an uncomfortable experience. I really want to like it but it hasn’t been stable enough to daily drive for me personally. I don’t know enough about Linux to diagnose what’s causing it to freeze, and I haven’t managed to find any conclusive fix for it. I don’t know if it’s a steamos thing or a Linux thing or a steam deck thing or something with my dock, but I haven’t had any of those issues with windows so far

I haven’t given up on steamos and I’m sure I’ll be back. No way windows is gonna stay on deck forever. Just frustrating that I keep having these issues at all. If they fix the freezing and csp gets native Linux support, that’ll be my killer app and a strong reason to switch to Linux daily

Ohhhh. Yeah that's fair! I think the Discord screenshare thing is almost certainly caused by app sandboxing, which is a sort of modern security thing that everyone except windows does now where apps can't see what other apps are doing unless they ask the right way. As for CSP not running on linux, yeah, that's absolutely a dealbreaker; I know Krita runs fine but I also know that Krita and CSP have different muscle memory and it's reasonable not to want to switch.
