Specifically this MegaZeux game called Bombin' Dude (you can play it in browser!). It's kind of a roguelike sorta thing but it's very simple and very easy to pick up and play and a lot of fun. You throw bombs and can find a shotgun and build turrets. Every 10th stage is an "onslaught" level where waves of enemies flood in from one side of the screen and you're given materials to build turrets to fend them off.
Why this became a Christmas Tradition for me is just because I happened to play it all Christmas 11 years ago and somehow it just became something I did every year alongside the other games I tend to play on Christmas, like NiGHTS into Dreams.
