Absolute bummer.
I know I posted only infrequently here, but I honestly loved this place.
This place had that old (way old) Twitter vibe where I could find folks with the same niche interests that I had, and I feel like that’s missing even in the “good” places nowadays.
I don’t care about metrics that much, but one thing that was kind of heartwarming about this place as an amateur artist was if a piece that I put a ton of work into bombed on another site, it would end up blowing up on here instead.
I didn’t need numbers or notifications, I just really liked that my stuff was being seen by folks, especially when Twitter started burying my stuff.
I’ll update my pinned post with my links to where you can find me in other places. Maybe they’ll be a cohost-like on the horizon, or a place with the same spirit.
There’s definitely a demand for good, non SEO, non monetized Social Media. I hope there’s a way it can exist in some form.
