PSA: The new COVID-19 vaccines in the US aren't free unless you have health insurance. For those who are not insured, the CDC has a free vaccination program called the Bridge Access Program that's worth looking into.
"Aren't free" is an understatement; I heard they're charging around $120.
Rock and a hard place for me, as the only thing worse than my money situation is my executive function. Raising the barrier to entry above "show up at a pharmacy and ask for one" is going to reduce the number of people getting the thing. And increase the number of "why aren't people getting the thing" thinkpieces.
