This is a painting I did for the cover for a novel. I believe it was the second time I used acrylic for a Guilty [Gear] work, and I designed it to be complete as a single painting. The hands next to Ky’s face are not an eccentric pose he is trying very hard to achieve, but rather a metaphor that he is confronting himself and questioning himself with a strong attitude. When I was drafting it, it didn’t look so bad, but when I colored it, his face went off-model and he turned out looking East Asian. There are many things missing, but this is one of the few works that I am satisfied with after I finished painting it.
