Part of me will remain forever bitter that her entire story just got completely dropped as soon as Rinoa showed up.
I came here to say exactly this.
Her storyline goes nowhere! I've always felt that Quistis should have taken on the role of "leader" instead of Squall. It makes no sense why everyone in the group immediately hands all the decision-making to him, the asocial wonder that he is.
Almost every FF since VII uses a trio of women that fall into the roles of Mother, Love Interest, and Child. Quistis is the Mother role for VIII and she deserved better, but making her a tsundere or party girl? May as well make a completely new character because that's definitely not Quistis.
No no, she's not the party girl. She's the tsundere TO a party girl, and they're useless for 3/4 of the story, and then explosively figure their feelings out and get an epic confession cutscene and we love and protect them both forever.
Randomly stumbled upon this and I love it! I feel like I never see much art done for Quistis which is a real shame.
