I did a little brief research, and the text in the image are actually from the lyrics to the song "Mil etter mil", which was Norway's entry in the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest. It got zero votes and ended up in last place. Still, the singer's stage performance is kind of entertaining:

Translation of the text in the image:

Rest when you are tired
Rest your body, before your strength ebbs out
Water trickles into your shoe
You must not go!
Mile after mile after mile!

did not expect to see jahn teigen this morning, fool that i am. iirc norway's early eurovision career is full of songs that ended up either in first place or dead last? the vibe was so strange

I think my favorite Norwegian ESC entry is Sámiid ædnan from 1980. Lyrics alluding to the Sami protesting the construction of a hydroelectric power plant, and then a beautiful Sami yoik. 16th place of 19 entries. Later made a cameo in the crappy 2011 prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing.

wooahhh, i've never heard of that. though, sami singers and songs have made it pretty far up the ranks every time in recent years that i've watched the norwegian national finals (which is super sporadically)... it's kind of interesting when you consider how sami culture is hardly representational to just the one country?
