the most fun thing about ASTLIBRA is that from the outset, it's very clearly made by a person who is working within a set of limitations. and despite that, i can think of few games that escalate in power level so believably as it does.
there's so many moments where a character who you recently met will watch you defeat a boss and remark that you're "way too strong" and you can't help but agree because you've been managing 6 different sub systems propping up the action RPG combat and stacking them together to barely stay ahead of the difficulty curve. it's crunchy, the combat feels fast and fluid and the whole thing is unapologetically a power fantasy that seemingly has no issues conveying a sense of scale over a lengthy adventure despite its limitations.
